Affordable Care Act

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) is greatly changing American health care.

Since the ACA’s adoption in 2010, Medicaid programs and new health insurance options are covering millions more people. New grants and awards are available for health care innovation, and existing programs to help the underserved are adapting to the new landscape of health insurance exchanges and other new organizations.

Abt Associates is a trusted partner in evaluating, advising, and assisting states, federal agencies, and local organizations on ACA research and implementation.

“Abt is evaluating the effectiveness of Accountable Care Organizations, the Bundled Payments for Care Improvement Initiative, and other initiatives and projects of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services,” said Chris Spera, vice president for U.S. Health at Abt Associates.

Abt also is carrying out a number of projects for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) regarding the impact of the ACA on special populations, including:

“We are committed to delivering the best evidence and assistance possible regarding the ACA,” Spera said.
