John Lamb
John Lamb, a widely recognized authority on global food security and agricultural development, serves as principal associate in the International Economic Growth Division. Lamb provides high-level expertise in food and agricultural policy, high-value product and market development, the linkages between agriculture and nutrition, and agri-food standards.
Lamb rejoined Abt Associates after three years as Agribusiness Team Leader for the World Bank, where he managed the global Agricultural and Rural Enterprise work program. He continues to work on a consultancy basis with the World Bank and is a member of the International Advisory Committee of the Global Food Safety Initiative.
Lamb began his career in the 1970s as a Peace Corps Volunteer and has worked throughout the world since then. His private work in international agriculture includes the founding and management of a fresh produce sourcing operation from Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as international strategy advice to the Producer Reporter Company. He has served as consultant to trade, industry, and exporter associations in the United States, Peru, Colombia, Jamaica, Haiti, and Egypt.
Lamb holds B.A. and M.B.A. degrees from Harvard University.
