Abt Associates offers staff many opportunities to develop rewarding careers here. Our projects are a major engine of staff development. Staff typically work on a few projects at a time. Each project presents unique challenges and opportunities to develop new skills, learn new perspectives, and take on new responsibilities.

We also offer non-project based professional development resources to meet the diverse needs of our staff, including:

  • A comprehensive orientation program
  • A formal mentoring program
  • Periodic Town Halls where distinguished speakers present their ideas to all of Abt Associates
  • Affinity groups that provide staff with common professional interests the opportunity to interact with and learn from others
  • Journal Authors’ Support Group
  • Development and Dissemination Grants that provide funding to publish work in peer-reviewed journals
  • Technical Dissemination Grants that provide funding to present work at professional conferences
  • Tuition reimbursement
  • Courses, workshops, and training seminars

This rich set of resources is designed to help staff succeed at Abt Associates. Some of these resources are intended for everyone, while others target staff with certain backgrounds or roles or at particular points in their careers.

We encourage staff to work with their mentors, supervisors, and managers to identify and secure the resources needed to achieve their professional goals and deliver work of the highest quality.
