Abt SRBI Appoints Distinguished Statisticians and Methodologists

BETHESDA, MD — Abt SRBI continues to strengthen its methodological and statistical capabilities with the appointment of leading veteran statisticians and methodologists.
 
Dr. K.P. Srinath and Johnny Blair, both previously with parent company Abt Associates, are joining the Abt SRBI team. Abt SRBI has also strengthened its Advanced Methods Group with the appointment of Senior Statistician Dr. Stanislav (Stas) Kalenikov, who will join Abt SRBI in May. 
 
“Statistics is at the heart of the survey sciences. These distinguished appointments will further solidify our position as one of the world’s leading survey organizations,” Abt SRBI CEO Mark Schulman said.
 
Srinath has more than 20 years of experience in designing dozens of large-scale sample surveys for Abt and Abt SRBI. He has expertise in all methodological aspects of sample surveys and holds a Ph.D. in biostatistics is from UCLA.
 
Blair, who will direct the Abt SRBI Cognitive Testing Laboratory, is a leader in the sciences of cognitive testing. Over the course of his career, he has managed survey operations; designed surveys for both population and business establishment research; and conducted methodological research in several areas. He has served on committees for the National Academy of Sciences, the American Statistical Association, and National Center for Educational Statistics, among others.
 
Kalenikov, an expert in statistics survey methods, quantitative methodology and statistical programing, holds a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He is currently an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Statistics at the University of Missouri, Columbia, as well as a consultant to The World Bank.
