Ramakrishnan Ganesan of Abt Associates, who leads the Strengthening Health Outcomes through the Private Sector (SHOPS) project team in India, joined in a roundtable discussion about child survival July 24 with Dr. Jill Biden – wife of vice president Joe Biden – and issue stakeholders. The meeting was held in UNICEF’s Mumbai office.
Nearly half of the children in India are chronically malnourished. To address this and other causes of preventable child deaths, India has issued a national Call to Action for Child Survival and Development to end these deaths by 2035.
