L. Quentin Dixon, Ed.D., a senior analyst in the Abt Associates Social and Economic Policy Division, presented the paper "Parents vs. TV: The Relative Importance of Caregiver Language versus TV Language among Bilingual Kindergartners in Singapore" at the 5th International Symposium on Bilingualism held in Barcelona, Spain, March 20-23, 2005.
More than 600 researchers from over 50 countries attended the symposium, which included such topics as bilingual education, child and adult bilingual language acquisition, code-switching, language change, and psycholinguistics.
