Abt Associates Names David Ferreira Chief Human Resources Officer
Cambridge, Mass., June 15, 2006 — Abt Associates announced the hiring of David Ferreira as Chief Human Resources Officer. Ferreira will lead all aspects of the Company's human resources function with emphasis on human capital development activities. He will also join the Company's Senior Executive Team.
"David is a very senior professional with an extensive track record in human resources management and consulting," said CEO Wendell Knox. "His wide-ranging experience in his own business and at several major organizations includes organizational assessment, succession planning, leadership development, executive coaching, organizational effectiveness, change management, and recruiting, retention and mentoring activities."
Ferreira began his career with General Electric, where he spent 13 years in various human resource capacities gaining hands on knowledge of GE's highly rated best practices in the areas of employee relations and management assessment and training. After GE he served as Chief Human Resources Officer for Beneficial Management Corporation, a 12,000 person financial services company. He then joined KPMG as National Director of Human Resources where he developed the firm's succession planning process. Since 1998 he has been operating his own consulting company, providing a wide range of clients with strategic human resources solutions for improving organizational performance.

Ferreira holds a B.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University, a J.D. in Corporate Law from the New England School of Law, an M.S. in European Community Business from the University of Amsterdam, and an M.B.A. in General Management from the University of Michigan.
