Targeting Interventions for Homeless Families and Individuals
Matching families and individuals with interventions that meet their needs and represent the most efficient use of scarce resources is challenging many communities.  This interactive workshop will include speakers with program and system level expertise in targeting and designing interventions.  The workshop will explore the data needed to improve targeting and the assessment tools and strategies communities are currently using to maximize their resources to end homelessness.

Performance Measurement for Housing First
Is your program rapidly re-housing individuals and families?  How many are successfully accessing permanent housing?  Are they remaining stably housed over time?  These are some of the questions performance measurement can answer.  This workshop will provide introductory level guidance on developing performance measures, including identifying the right outcome measures for Housing First programs and overcoming challenges in collecting data.  The workshop will cover both program and system-level performance measurement.

The State of Homelessness in the United States
For the first time in a decade, data about the state of homelessness in America is available.  Are we making progress?  Come and find out.  Presenters will highlight findings from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Annual Homeless Assessment Report (AHAR) and recent data on efforts to increase the stock of permanent supportive housing.  How many people are homeless, what are their characteristics, how are they utilizing the homeless assistance system, and declines in chronic homelessness will be discussed.

Quantifying the costs of homelessness and the cost-effectiveness of different interventions provides valuable insight into how resources should be allocated and which public policies and programs should be adopted.  Workshop speakers will discuss ongoing cost studies, highlight findings and challenges, and provide tips on how to design a credible cost study in your community.
