Abt has extensive experience evaluating early childhood programs that prepare young children to succeed in school.
With a particular focus on disadvantaged children, Abt conducts a wide range of studies that assess the effectiveness of national and local programs. We look at programs designed to strengthen the literacy and numeracy skills of young children, as well as developmental areas.
Producing scientifically based evidence for policymakers is the hallmark of our work. Abt has been involved in national studies of Head Start and Even Start. We have also conducted numerous studies of early childhood education programs at the state and local levels.
