Overview

Abt’s highly skilled and diverse staff is committed to lowering HIV/AIDS infection and mortality rates. At the same time, we improve the availability and quality of care for those living with the disease.

We focus on identifying appropriate solutions that reflect the political, social, and cultural considerations of each country while achieving satisfactory outcomes. For instance, Abt's USAID-funded activity in Ethiopia is working with employers to increase awareness about HIV/AIDS, reduce stigma, and increase detection through a mobile, on-site testing program.

With more than 20 years of experience in HIV/AIDS research and program implementation, Abt helps clients develop effective responses to the particular challenges in this arena.

Our work includes:

  • Strengthening health systems;
  • Advocating for policy reform;
  • Improving HIV services and program financing;
  • Capturing strategic information for research and evaluation;
  • Stimulating private sector involvement for better access to care;
  • Mobilizing at the local level for community engagement; and
  • Supporting positive behavior changes among targeted audiences.
