Abt Associates: Bold thinkers driving real-world impact
Abt has been managing the planning and implementation of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) National Recovery Month, a nationwide campaign to promote expanded mental health and addiction prevention, treatment and recovery, including treatment program access, availability, and quality at all levels of society. Abt built a dedicated team of partners who not only understand the complexities of addiction and recovery, but also recognize and know the various communication strategies to reach and engage multiple audiences and continually expand and evolve the campaign to the next level. Accomplishments include designing and developing award-winning multimedia and educational products, including English and Spanish outreach materials for various media sources and the award-winning Recovery Month website (www.recoverymonth.gov); developing and maintaining an online Recovery Month Toolkit; and designing and producing 76 television PSAs and online video content. The Abt team additionally works to disseminate Recovery Month messaging through social media resources, including YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter.
