Abt Associates: Bold thinkers driving real-world impact
Since 2008, Abt Associates has been working with the Corporation for Supportive Housing and partner state agencies in Connecticut to study a statewide initiative to provide permanent supportive housing (PSH) for low income individuals with histories of homelessness, mental illness, addiction and other special needs. The study has collected and analyzed development and operating costs of the PSH projects that are part of the initiative and has analyzed data on the characteristics of the PSH residents and their satisfaction with the program. The next phase of the study will use administrative data from state agencies to understand how service costs and patterns of use of mental and behavioral health and other health care systems are affected by residence in PSH. The Abt project director is Gretchen Locke.
