Abt Associates: Bold thinkers driving real-world impact
Linking Human Services and Housing Assistance for Homeless Families and Families at Risk of Homelessness, published in 2012, included in-person interviews with key stakeholders in each of the communities and identified 10 promising practices that facilitated the development, implementation and sustainability of these models. These practices may assist communities as they transform their homeless services systems into crisis response systems that prevent family homelessness and rapidly return families experiencing homelessness to stable housing. The study also developed design options for rigorously evaluating models that link human services to housing supports. The Abt project director was Alvaro Cortes.
