Abt Associates provides strategic communication and integrated marketing services to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) for its Office of Communications. Under the project, Abt assists the agency in creating an agency-wide Strategic Communications Plan; design print and electronic materials such as the quarterly newsletter SAMHSA News and the bi-weekly electronic notice SAMHSA Headlines; and develop greater traditional and new media outreach to SAMHSA’s audiences. In addition we work with agency staff to coordinate communication research for tobacco prevention and cessation with behavioral health conditions and research to support campaigns on enrollment of uninsured individuals with behavioral health conditions under the Affordability Care Act.
Ultimately, the project will help the Office of Communications achieve SAMHSA’s key goals of becoming recognized as a national and international leader in behavioral health care; advancing the achievements of the behavioral health field; and enhancing the field’s position within general health care.
