The U.S. Department of Education’s Mathematics and Science Partnership (MSP) program is designed to boost students’ academic achievement in math and science by augmenting the content knowledge and teaching skills of classroom teachers. Central to these efforts are partnerships between high-need school districts and the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) faculty in institutions of higher education. To support the implementation, evaluation and recognition of this program, Abt Associates performs several key activities, including: (1) developing and maintaining the MSP project website, (2) collecting annual progress reports from all MSP projects, (3) providing technical assistance in preparing APR data and in conducting evaluations, (4) preparing annual summary reports, and (5) reviewing grantee evaluations to determine thoroughness of designs. Abt has provided analytic and technical support for the MSP program since 2005.
