BETHESDA, MD—Abt Associates has been selected by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as one of five companies to provide analysis and technical support services to its Climate Change Division (CCD) over the next five years. The $20 million IDIQ award, made last week, will fund a variety of climate change initiatives.
“This is an exciting win for Abt Associates,” said Mike Conti, Division Vice President, ERD. “Not only is the work in line with our company’s mission but it enables us to apply our expertise in climate change analyses to inform U.S. policies, strategies and programs.” Conti added that EPA will have “immediate access to the latest international climate change policy and economic developments” as a result of Abt’s support of climate change analyses in developing and transitioning nations.
The IDIQ identifies specific work areas that include economic and policy analyses of climate change mitigation strategies for greenhouse gas emissions, and technical analysis of the impacts of climate change. Other projects include analyses of the economic impacts of EPA regulatory actions and programs.
“This award allows us to continue to work on important issues for EPA, and it is work that impacts not only U.S. citizens, but citizens of the world as well,” Conti said.
