Abt Associates staff will present at the Society for Research on Educational Effectiveness (SREE) 2018 Spring Conference. The theme of this year's conference is, The Evidence Behind Evidence Use: When Does Education Research Inform Practice? and wlll explore the adoption and implementation of effective research-based practice.

Learning Together: Building Evidence to Close the Opportunity Divide for Low-Income Youth
Moderator: Rebecca Maynard, University of Pennsylvania
The panel will share lessons learned from a long-term partnership between Year Up, a non-profit that focuses on workforce development for at-risk youth, and evaluators including Abt Associates. Abt staff will share findings from a recent Pathways to Advancing Careers and Education (PACE) Evaluation report conducted on the implementation and early impacts of the Year Up core program.

2H. Symposium: Improving the Design of STEM Impact Studies: Considerations for Statistical Power
The symposium is focused around recent findings aimed at improving the design and power analyses of impact studies of STEM interventions on both student and teacher effects. The majority of these impact studies utilize a cluster randomized trial (CRT), which must be designed with adequate power in order to yield rigorous evidence of the effect of an intervention.
