Event 5/1: Renewable Energy and Smart Grid Suppliers Forum: Emerging Market Opportunities for U.S. Firms

Abt Associates staff will participate in the Renewable Energy and Smart Grid Suppliers Forum, organized by the USAID-funded Climate Economic Analysis, Development, Investment, and Resilience (CEADIR) Activity implemented by Crown Agents-USA and Abt Associates. The event is aimed at helping U.S. companies interested in selling products and services for utility-scale applications in developing countries.

Lunch Session: Gender Considerations in Emerging Markets - 1:30 p.m.
Participants are invited to join a brown bag lunch session on gender considerations in the energy sector. A lead discussant will provide an overview and case studies on how companies, financial institutions, and donors are addressing gender and inclusion in the energy sector in developing country markets, as well as facilitate sharing of additional perspectives and experiences with participants.

In each group, lead discussants will share experiences accessing and expanding business in emerging markets, discuss lessons learned, and offer guidance on working with partners and potential sources of financing and investment. Active dialogue with group participants will address key questions and facilitate further sharing of perspectives and insights.
