Andrew Evans, senior associate at Abt Associates, will present research at the CDC's 2018 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) Training Workshop. The workshop brings together experts from the surveillance systems community and this year's theme is "doing more in a changing environment."
Mr. Evans will present the following:
Session: CATI User Discussion
Monday, April 9, 1:15 – 4:45 p.m.
Presentation: Spam I Am?: Impact of Call Blocking on RDD Surveys
Presenter: Andrew Evans
The presentation discusses the testing Abt Associates BRFSS project team has done with mobile phone spam apps and call blocking features. The tests were undertaken to better understand what telephone interviewers encounter when a survey’s caller ID telephone number is being blocked. The overall goal is determining if we can be more efficient in the BRFSS survey protocol rules on calling.
