This study from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and Abt Global shows promising results for the future of patient-centered care in home settings. CMS enlisted Abt to evaluate the National Institutes of Health’s Patient-Reported Outcome Information Set (PROMIS®), an ongoing program to capture the voices of patients in home healthcare. Abt and CMS found that the PROMIS Global health survey effectively captures the patient’s direct report of his or her overall physical, mental and social health, making it the first such survey deemed feasible for use with patients in home health settings.
