The crime of human trafficking is coming to the forefront after being ignored for many years. This is especially true as it pertains to the commercial sex industry. Decriminalization and legalization is being attempted around the world an even in the United States. Prostitution is often compared at times to the failure of prohibition, stating regulation would not only help human trafficking victims in the sex industry but would bring in revenue from the taxes it would generate. In this book, a human trafficking detective that also investigates vice crimes associated with human trafficking lays out an argument of how decriminalization and legalization will cause human trafficking to increase in the commercial sex industry.
