The Caribbean region has the second-highest HIV prevalence rate in the world. Most governments in the region have relied heavily on external aid to fund national HIV programs. Understanding the key strengths and weaknesses of Caribbean national health systems is central to ensuring the long-term sustainability of national HIV programs and access to HIV services.
