Abt Associates recently completed a multi-year evaluation of the Massachusetts ELT initiative that examnies both the implementation of ELT, and the outcomes for schoools, teachers, and student using a short interrupted time series with a comparison group design. The ELT initiative funds particular schools to expand the length of the school day and/or year and provide additional instructional and enrichment opportunities for students as well as additional planning and professional development opportunities for educators.
