Professional Development to Support Evidence Collection (Brockton Public Schools)

An external research team, which included SRI International, Abt Associates, Nancy Brigham Associates, and J Koppich & Associates, studied implementation of the new Educator Evaluation Framework for the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (ESE).

The Artifact Brief Series profile high quality examples of resources, protocols, and practices across MA districts that support effective educator evaluation implementations.This brief describes a workshop that Brockton Public Schools developed for evaluators and teachers to support evidence collection, a critical element of the educator evaluation process. The Quality vs. Quantity: Evidence Collection for Educator Growth workshop provides concrete guidance about how to make the educator evaluation process meaningful and as simple as possible.
