Report

October 1, 2021

This is the second of three reports on the evaluation of the Supportive Services Demonstration for Elderly Households in HUD-Assisted Multifamily Housing. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) sponsored the demonstration to test the impact of structured health and wellness support on the healthcare utilization and housing stability of older adults in HUD-assisted properties. This report documents implementation of the Integrated Wellness in Supportive Housing (IWISH) model during the entire 3-year demonstration period, and describes the experiences of staff, property owners, and residents. It also documents how IWISH differs from what is offered at a comparison group of HUD-assisted properties for older adults. The third and final report, expected in late 2022, will present findings on the impact of the IWISH model.
