USAID’s Health Finance and Governance (HFG) project will improve health in developing countries by expanding people’s access to health care. Led by Abt Associates, the project team will work with partner countries to increase their domestic resources for health, manage those precious resources more effectively, and make wise purchasing decisions.

This report is intended to highlight the progress that has been made to date and to discuss some of the gaps in the India's health information system (HIS). A highly functioning national HIS facilitates transparent and evidence-based decision making that ultimately leads to improvements in the health status of a country’s population.
