Evaluating the Impacts of Climate Change in the San Diego Region

With e360˚as the prime, Abt Global assessed the cost of inaction on climate change to San Diego’s regional economy focusing on impacts of climate change on water, coastal flooding, heat and public health, and new business opportunities.

Abt examined the impact of climate change-induced temperature increase and heat waves on public health, worker productivity, and the associated economic loss in San Diego County. We conducted interviews to understand the potential impact of energy disruptions on local hospital operations. Results from the study were used to inform local business leaders, policymakers, and communities about the public health and worker productivity-related consequences of inaction on climate.
