Beth Gamse Named to Editorial Team for Journal of Research on Educational Effectiveness
Beth Gamse Beth Gamse, principal associate at Abt Associates, has been named to a three-year term on the editorial team for the Journal of Research on Educational Effectiveness, the flagship publication of the Society for Research on Educational Effectiveness.
Gamse will serve as editor for the journal’s Section on Intervention, Evaluation, and Policy Studies. Gamse conducts research on programs designed to improve educational and life outcomes. She has broad research expertise, particularly in designing and conducting studies that range from mixed quantitative and qualitative methods, to random assignment, to regression discontinuity, to large‐scale descriptive survey‐based efforts.
“I look forward to contributing to what has already become one of the leading publications devoted to improving our understanding of effective educational interventions,” Gamse said. “And I fully expect the new editorial slate to expand the journal’s reach.”
The new editorial team also includes:
- Sean F. Reardon, Editor-in-Chief. Reardon is the Endowed Professor of Poverty and Inequality in Education in the Stanford Graduate School of Education;
- Pamela A. Morris, Editor, Section on Theory, Contexts, and Mechanisms. Morris is a Professor of Applied Psychology and the Vice Dean for Research and Faculty Affairs at NYU's Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development; and
- Elizabeth Stuart, Editor, Section on Methodology. Stuart is a Professor of Mental Health, Biostatistics, and Health Policy and Management at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
