The award recognizes the contributions that Grindal along with lead author Avi Feller, and fellow co-authors Luke W. Miratrix and Lindsay C. Page have made to the fields of research methodology and early childhood education with their article, “Compared to What? Variation in the Impacts of Early Childhood Education by Alternative Care-Type Settings.” The article is forthcoming from the Annuals of Applied Statistics and fills a needed gap in how programs and evaluations examine variation for treatment effects. An advance working paper version is available through the Social Science Research Network.
