Administration May Recommend Men Cut Alcohol Consumption to One Drink a Day
BUSINESS INSIDER: Abt Senior Associate Dr. Alicia Sparks was quoted twice in a Business Insider article on a proposed change in federal dietary guidelines to reduce alcohol consumption by men. Sparks, who is vice chairperson of the US Alcohol Policy Alliance, said, “The less people drink in general, the healthier they are.” Sparks also raised concerns about relaxation of alcohol sales regulations to help small business during the pandemic, noting that increased availability could be harmful and increase underage drinking.
