Even if the U.S. Escapes a Recession, Other Economies May Not Be as Lucky

NPR’s Marketplace ran a piece, "The housing market is finally starting to cool off," on the struggling housing market, notably a drop in housing sales. However, the current stock is neither large enough nor affordable enough to help close gaps in housing equity. Abt’s Barbara Fields spoke to reporter Samantha Fields (no relation) to explain what it will take to improve conditions for low- and middle-income. It’s going to take investment from government and the private sector, she explained, noting, “We’ve had a decade of under building and there’s just not enough for everyone who wants to buy.”
