FDA seeks expert panel review of neurodevelopmental risk of inorganic arsenic in food
ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENSE FUND: Abt’s 2017 study on the correlation between arsenic exposure in infant rice products and adverse neurodevelopmental effects was mentioned in an EDF article on the FDA’s next steps in this field. Abt’s findings demonstrated that “it’s possible to quantify and monetize IQ loss associated with exposures to [inorganic] arsenic from infant rice cereal, rice, and other rice products.”
