Homebuilders’ Confidence in Housing Market Plummets
NPR’s Marketplace ran a piece on the struggling housing industry, and spoke to Abt’s Barbara Fields. While the piece focused on a softening of the residential market and the perception that a slowing of housing production was appropriate, Barbara reminded listeners that housing affordability and homelessness are still challenging Americans around the country, and that more affordable housing is needed. “We simply, since the last recession, have not gotten up to building at the level we need to be,” she explained.
