A Measure of Strength: Developmental PFAS Exposures and Bone Mineral Content in Adolescence
The National Institutes of Health’s Environmental Health Perspectives quoted Abt’s Meghan Lynch in an article on the effects of PFAS on osteoperosis and skeletal strength. Lynch said, “[d]ecreases in [bone material density] in childhood are linked to an increase in fractures and the development of osteoporosis,” and that the study addresses “important questions regarding prenatal exposure to both individual and mixtures of PFAS.”
