Researchers Examine Whether Urban Camping Bans Help People Out of Homelessness
Abt’s Lauren Dunton, lead author of the first study of homeless encampments, spoke to Denver’s 9NBC for a piece on an encampment ban in Aurora, Colo. Dunton explained that such bans typically exacerbate the issue: encampment residents often simply move to another location, at which point they are separated from any service providers with whom they may have been working.
