Stetson University Professor Named President of National Coalition for the Homeless
Daytona Beach News-Journal: Abt’s study of homeless encampments—the first of its kind—continues to inform the conversation around homelessness, this time appearing in an announcement of the the newest president of the National Coalition for the Homeless. Our results were cited in reference to the organization’s call to end encampments sweeps, noting we found that such efforts were costly and don’t achieve desired results. The article also noted our conclusion that people live in encampments "because of the lack of affordable housing in their communities."
