Study finds that new principals can boost student achievement — with a little help
THE HECHINGER REPORT: Does investing in schools’ principals lead to improved student achievement? A Wallace Foundation study of the Principal Pipeline Initiative (PPI) says “yes,” and The Hechinger Report notes Abt confirmed those findings. Abt reviewed the strength of the study evidence and concluded that the estimated effects of PPI on principal retention were positive, statistically significant and met Tier III ESSA evidence standards.
