Rockville, Md. – Global Health 50/50, which earlier this year evaluated 140 leading global health organizations’ commitment to gender responsiveness, highlighted Abt Associates’ promotion of gender equality in its latest snapshot of organizational practices.
The profile highlighted Abt’s establishment of a working group to integrate gender issues in our projects. “This year, we launched the Gender, Equity and Inclusion (GEI) Working Group tasked with documenting GEI-integrated projects, reviewing gender and social inclusion indicators in current projects and incorporating gender capabilities, resources and standards in our work,” Abt said. The group “is also tasked with leading new company initiatives to cultivate equity and social inclusion.”
In Global Health 50/50’s earlier evaluation, Abt had the highest rating of 50 private companies and consulting firms. The 140 organizations evaluated also includes non-governmental organizations.
Global Health 50/50 is an initiative of the Institute for Global Health at University College in London.
