Paul Auxila has more than 30 years of experience in program design, management and implementation in international development, global health and international operations. As high-level donors coordination advisor, Auxila partners with Haiti’s government, the donor community, the private sector, and civil society to assist the Haiti Ministry of Health in its efforts to enhance governance and stewardship of the national health system.
Before joining Abt Associates, Auxila consulted with several organizations as a strategic advisor in international operations and business development.
As the former executive vice president and chief operating officer of Management Science for Health, Auxila oversaw the organization’s technical portfolio and successfully led its global operations through key transformations during an eight-year period of significant growth and success. He pioneered many aspects of its business, from the technical portfolio to decentralization agenda, and provided oversight to more than 120 international development projects in more than 40 countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America and the Caribbean.
Before assuming his executive role at MSH, Auxila occupied several positions, including chief of party of large international health projects, country representative, senior corporate officer, and senior technical advisor supporting, overseeing or managing health projects and operations in more than 30 countries.
With funding from USAID, the World Bank, DANIDA, and others, Auxila has worked extensively with both the public and private sectors. His work ranges from national level strategic planning, policy and governance, to project management, health systems strengthening, organizational development, leadership and management, information systems, and results-based financing.
