Scott Roantree has more than 15 years of international development experience, leading major projects and working in senior positions in government and the private sector.
Based in Geneva, Roantree is responsible for leading Abt’s business development in the Australian and European markets. He also oversees implementation of the Australia Timor-Leste Partnership for Human Development, funded by the Australia Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). Previously at Abt Australia, Roantree was the vice president for program delivery, where he focused on DFAT programs, ensuring alignment with client policy and standards.
Before joining Abt, Roantree was director of program effectiveness and performance at DFAT Indonesia, where he was responsible for the section that provided support across design, evaluation, risk and procurement functions in the Australia-Indonesia bilateral portfolio. He led efforts to improve quality management and safeguards systems and practices, resulting in stronger portfolio-level performance and reputation of the Indonesia program within DFAT.
Prior to that, Roantree was the regional manager for Indonesia/Timor Leste for Cardno Emerging Markets, where he was responsible for the Indonesia country program, Cardno’s largest international development portfolio. He also served as Cardno’s regional manager for Cardno Acil’s North Asia portfolio.
