Jill Norton is an experienced education policy adviser with more than 10 years of experience managing large education projects.
At Abt she applies her understanding of education policy, established connections with regional policymakers and stakeholders, and project management experience to bridge the education research, policy and practice worlds.
Norton has guided applied research initiatives in the public and private sectors, including as a senior policy advisor for the Massachusetts Executive Office of Education and as executive director of the Rennie Center for Education Research and Policy. Her expertise has provided state and local decision-makers with research that informs and engages stakeholders with the grounded evidence needed to guide policies, partnerships and programs. She has collaborated with district leaders across New England to provide educators with customized professional development and support. Norton has authored and produced applied policy research on a range of topics, including teacher preparation, state assessments and accountability systems, and promising practices for reducing high school dropout rates.
