Nash
Matilda Nash is a governance and development specialist at Abt with seven years of experience in programme management, business development, and technical assistance. She currently supports the delivery of complex health and governance programs, and growth activities for Abt Associates in the UK and European marketplaces. She has experience in managing Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) proposals, applied research and political economy analysis, and mobilising and operationalising governance and health programmes that require complex stakeholder management. Nash holds a Master of Science at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where she focused on colonial and post-colonial history and development in Africa.
Nash is a technical programme manager on the UK Aid flagship programme, Accelerating the Sustainable Control and Elimination of Neglected Tropical Diseases (Ascend). She coordinates Abt’s technical assistance in health systems strengthening and governance in nine African countries and two South Asian countries. Nash coordinated political economy analysis in the 11 countries and co-delivered a six-week remote training course on organisational capacity development for 77 participants across both regions. Nash also provides technical input on governance-related issues to the Nepal Portfolio Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (PMEL) programme.
Before her current role, Nash was the programme manager for the FCDO Nepal Health Sector Programme 3 (NHSP3) Monitoring, Evaluation, and Operational Research (MEOR) project. She was responsible for establishing Abt Britain’s presence in Nepal, rapidly mobilising the programme, and providing ongoing operational and technical support.
Prior to this, Nash was based in Abt’s Brisbane office, where she worked on the monitoring and evaluation of the Papua New Guinea Rural Primary Health Services Delivery Project, funded by the Asian Development Bank. She relocated to London in 2015 and started helping to build Abt Associates’ UK business.
