Wilson, Ph.D.

Principal Associate, Social & Economic Policy

Sandra Wilson is an internationally known expert in research synthesis and meta-analysis. She has conducted systematic reviews of educational programs, most notably on school-based violence prevention and high school dropout programs.

Prior to joining Abt, Wilson was the associate director of the Peabody Research Institute and a research assistant professor at Vanderbilt University. Wilson led and supported research projects at the Center for Evaluation Research and Methodology at Vanderbilt.

Wilson also has served as a senior methodologist for the Institute of Education Sciences’ What Works Clearinghouse for the last four years.

Since 2010, Wilson has served as the editor for the Campbell Collaboration Education Coordinating Group. In addition to her role as editor, she provides technical assistance to Campbell grantees on systematic review design and methodology and offers workshops and trainings at Campbell-sponsored events. Her research has been featured in leading peer-reviewed journals, including Evaluation Review, the American Journal of Preventive Medicine, Research Synthesis Methods, Educational Evaluation Policy Analysis and the Journal of the Society for Social Work Research.
