Principal Associate, Infectious Diseases and Public Health

Dr. Tiffany G. Harris is an epidemiologist with over 20 years of experience working in public health. She has overseen surveillance, program implementation and management, monitoring and evaluation, informatics, and data analysis and dissemination at the local, federal, and international level. She focuses on HIV, tuberculosis, COVID-19, and other infectious and non-infectious diseases.

At Abt, Harris serves as the client solutions architect for infectious diseases, supporting client delivery, client development, demand generation, capture, and proposal activities. She also facilitates responsive delivery of technical solutions tailored to a client's environment. Harris is a technical lead for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)-funded Nursing Home Public Health Response Network (NH PHRN), a national network of nursing homes that examines the epidemiology of COVID-19 and other infectious diseases. She provides senior oversight and technical direction for this project, including serving as the Abt principal investigator for the Kinetics of SARS-CoV-2 Shedding in Nursing Home Staff and Residents (INHERENT) Study. Harris serves as the project quality reviewer for the CDC-funded Tracking the burden, distribution, and impact of Post COVID-19 conditions in diverse populations for children, adolescents, and adults (Track PCC) study. She also serves as a technical advisor for the Global Technical Assistant Program, which provides data-based support for HRSA’s President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR)-funded programs and grantees. Harris is an adjunct associate professor of epidemiology at Columbia University.

Before joining Abt, Harris was the director of strategic information (SI) at ICAP at Columbia University, where she oversaw the assessment and implementation of epidemiology, monitoring and evaluation, surveillance, and health information system activities. She was also the principal investigator for four CDC-funded projects supporting SI, epidemiology, and global health security in Africa and served as a project lead or co-lead for several others. Prior to ICAP, she worked for the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, where she oversaw surveillance for the Bureau of Tuberculosis Control and then was the assistant commissioner overseeing the Bureau of Epidemiology Services.
