This poster groups and visualizes the main types of experimental evaluation designs. Although the two-armed—and simpler of the three-armed—designs are commonly used, the other designs are not commonly used but could be in order to support greater policy learning. This poster is an attempt to familiarize researchers and practitioners with these options, which offer flexibility to answer varied questions about program (or program component) effectiveness.
