Tanzania has had one of the faster-growing economies in Sub-Saharan Africa in recent years – with agriculture as a key sector – but many people still live in poverty and suffer from malnutrition.
Abt Associates' work in Tanzania, which began in the 1980s, has addressed nutrition, health and other needs, including:
- Financing and delivering health services;
- Protecting millions of people from malaria;
- Expanding private sector treatment for HIV and AIDS; and
- Promoting more effective and accountable government at all levels.
