Abt works to address maternal and newborn morbidity and mortality in Nepal by supporting efforts to improve health services. Our health systems, data capture and governance expertise is helping to increase the utilization of health services while breaking down financial and social barriers for the nation’s most vulnerable populations. In addition, Abt supports Nepal in its post-conflict constitutional transition from a unitary to a federalist state with more effective, accountable, responsive and inclusive local governance. Abt’s previous health work in Nepal identified cost-efficient water treatment products for child diarrhea prevention. We also evaluated opportunities to mitigate black carbon emissions from Nepal’s transportation, industrial and residential sectors.
