As Thailand’s population increases, energy resources become more strained. Strong dependencies on fossil fuels can lead to dangerous amounts of greenhouse gas emissions if not controlled. USAID’s Clean Power Asia project promotes investments in environmentally-friendly, clean energy resources within Thailand. The Abt-led initiative aims to strengthen power systems, gather datasets in support of renewable energy targets and integrate these targets into power development and resource plans. Abt also has led projects that raised community awareness of avian flu health risks in Thailand.
