Building Strong Communities

Uganda – which has one of the youngest populations of any country in the world – has won praise in recent years for its robust efforts to address HIV and AIDS. Abt Associates-led projects have examined the impact of financial incentives to promote food security and benefit smallholder farmers, studied HIV-positive Ugandans’ treatment-seeking behavior, and protected millions of people from malaria, significantly reducing the disease’s prevalence.
