Advancing Quality of Life in Australia

Australia ranks second in the United Nations’ annual Human Development Index – a measure of quality of life, public health, social wealth and education. However, Indigenous Australians by themselves would rank 122nd in that index.  We at Abt Global believe we are obligated to work towards closing this gap. Our work in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, social well-being, youth justice and primary health care acknowledges that life does not deal everyone an equal hand. Through these efforts, we have seen a decline in preterm births since 2012 and an increase in infant immunization rates, among other important indictors of improving health and well-being.

Promoting Prosperity and Stability in Asia-Pacific

The Asia-Pacific region is a vast area with unique development challenges.  Operating in remote and difficult environments, we offer extensive experience in the region, strong technical capacity and a proven record of excellence in project management.  We work in partnership with DFAT in a number of countries, including Fiji, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Myanmar, Timor Leste and Vietnam to strengthen the institutions and processes that contribute to security, stability, better health and inclusive economic growth.  A number of our programs are specifically aimed at improving women’s economic participation and influencing the private and public sectors to promote women’s economic empowerment.
